Children’s and Teen Programs Sept-Nov
We have cool, fun programs for all ages starting in September. Click here for a listing of programs at SW.
Highlights:
Thrills and Chills Series held after school on Tuesdays, Sept. 30, Oct 21, & Nov 18 at 3:30. We’ll take a look at Monsters, Plagues and Diseases, and The Weird and Unreal.
Kids in grade 5 and up can celebrate Teen Read Week with an all-out gaming bash (Wii, DDR, & Guitar Hero II) and a best costume prize on Friday, Oct. 7th from 5-7pm.
Storytimes will be held on Tuesdays, beginning September 2nd. Toddlers (ages 2-3) at 9:45 and Preschoolers (ages 3-5) at 10:30. Miss Jody wishes goodluck to the 4-yr old kindergartners and Hello! to newcomers. There’s lots of fun planned like a pirate theme, dress up like a prince or princess, making a volcano..and lots more!

Back to School Tools for Teachers
Class Visits
September is National Library Card Sign-up Month! Bring your class for a visit to get acquainted with the library and get library cards. Arrange a book talk or themed storytime with Jody, the Children’s Librarian. Don’t forget to pick up and drop off library card applications at least a week prior to your visit.
Need Books for a Certain Subject Area?
We can gather books from all nine library locations and have it ready for you to pick-up! Please allow at least a week for books to come in.
Parent/Teacher Resource Center
Find new ideas for flannelboards, bulletins, crafts, promoting literacy and lots more! There are also books about child development, discipline, special needs and issues that affect children. These centers can also be found at the Central and East locations.
Multiple Copies of Books
Multiple copies of books are available for classroom use. Pick up books at the downtown Central location. To see what titles are available click here.
